The Altered Page, Seth Apter is holding an open Collectors Edition, in which artists share their favorite collection or obsession. I have so many collections and obsessions, it was hard to choose!
I decided to go with my latest fascination - the incredible camera on the iPhone 4 and some amazing photo filter apps. Since the camera reacts so quickly and is always with me, I find I am recording shots constantly. And the camera seems to see the same way I do, capturing my artistic visions. The most exciting part of this, for me, is that I am now using these images in my new work. Ahh, what a wonderful, creative world we live in...
Most of these images have been altered with filters. Filters on filters in most cases! A couple are "as is" shots.

You just can't go wrong with an iphone and good dose of creativity. These are fantastic photos, love how they turned out. They will make for some great art pieces, in particular I'd love to see that 1 & 2nd one in one of your pieces, it so fits your work.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bren. I'm sure you WILL see those pieces in my art :)
ReplyDeleteAmazing - from a camera on a phone!! Sometimes I feel like we are living Star Trek :)
ReplyDeleteYes, the iPhone really is a "communicator"...
ReplyDeleteI want the new iPad with the built-in cameras. I love your pictures. It's incredible what we are capable of creating in our modern world.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos and very encouraging as I'm thinking of getting a new iPhone. Beautiful stuff, and I look forward to seeing what you make of it.
ReplyDelete@Bill: I want the new iPad too! I've read that the cameras are not as high res as the iPhone 4, but even with lower res you can do cool, artistic shots :)
ReplyDelete@Carol: You will LOVE the new iPhone! Thanks so much for your encouragement :)
