I got highly creative with high relief texture: anaglypta wallpaper, door screening, fabric, thread, beads, metal embellishments [including real spoons] and chess pieces! Once the elements were safely embedded in Extra Heavy Gel Medium I painted everything white. Then came the aging with four different paints. I will go into details with pictures and information in another post.
All of these paintings are available now. If you want one, all you have to do is let me know in a comment on this blog post or FB message me. You can see all of the paintings in their Facebook Album. The sizes and prices are all there and you can see them in more detail.

Oh, Ophelia. You were the start of this whole series. I created Ophelia
last week and posted a picture of her on my Facebook Page, whereupon she
was snapped up almost immediately! So she will not be making her debut
at The Fantasy in the Forest Art Show after all. Instead, Ophelia will
be going to live with a lovely, creative person who is intensely
involved in the arts. I know they will appreciate each other ;)

So Alice, the Mad Hatter, Hamlet, Titania and I [along with the others] are headed to the most magical show of the year, The Fantasy in the Forest Art Show. On July 20th and 21st, a *new* fantasy woodland setting will be inhabited by the booths of talented artists & craftspeople. You will find all manner of beautiful wares to buy: paintings, assemblage, glass, beads, teddy bears, photography, sculpture, steam punk art, jewellery, letterpress books & prints, cast stone garden pieces, the list goes on...
Find out all about this amazing show here. There's even a harpist... could it be more magical? I hope to see you there :)
Looking forward to that step by step, such a great series. The Art show sounds like so much fun, from the setting to the artworks. Have a great show!
ReplyDeleteIt will be a great show, Bren. Thanks for the good wishes! I'm looking forward to posting the step by step making of the series :)
DeleteHope the show went well Holly. I have to imagine that it did given these spectacular pieces.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Seth... the show went very well. Three more painting from this series sold, as well as another one. The magical setting is such a treat to spend time in too! :)
