On these frosty days I can be found in my studio wearing two sweaters, fingerless gloves, a scarf (for the fan that blows cold air down my neck) and, sometimes, a hat. It's not that there is no heater, or that my studio is down the back of the property. It is, rather, an energy saving measure... wearing more layers instead of turning up the pellet stove. As the day progresses, I start to discard extra bits of clothing, ending up in more suitable attire for drawing and moving paint around on canvases.
I have managed to create a new piece over the weekend. It is not entirely finished, but I am pleased with it and glad to be coming up with new ideas. I am ploughing my way through "Chaos and Calm", another FABULOUS online class from Julie Prichard and Chris Cozen. I want to finish this class before the next one comes along!
I must confess that I have been tempted to bring my fingerless gloves to Cayman, the A/C in Brent's condo is so good - cool air helps me sleep, but it can get pretty chilly!...
ReplyDeleteThat would be a hoot.. fingerless gloves to combat A/C!
ReplyDeleteWell from the piece you're working on I'd say the extra cloths and gloves haven't stopped your creative output! Julia & Chris do such a great job with their workshops, envy your participation in C&C.
ReplyDeleteI may be cold, but my creativity hasn't frozen yet! Hope to see you in another class, Bren :)
ReplyDeleteI keep looking at this...I really like it!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Julie... me too :)
ReplyDeleteHi Holly! I LOVE this piece, it's gorgeous!! I miss seeing your work in Texture Town! Maybe I could hurry and finish that class (yeah right!), so I could be in the next one with you again.
